Noob build? : Inspiration Magic for Healing.
I have a Mesmer Monk, and only Phrophecies. I tought how to use these proffesions together, and I find that Inspiration Magic is useful to drain the energy from the enemy to you, and Fast Casting looks very useful for healing Monks too.
I am just asking if this build is decent in PvE, normal mode. I know that there are tons of better strategies for a mesmer, or for a healer, but can I use this strategy in normal mode, and can I be a main healer without disastrous results?
So I wait here for your wise opinions, but just remember I am a noob so PLEASE HAVE MERCY!
Thank you.

WoH + patient spirit + prots (Guardian, prot spirit, dismiss condition, cure hex/remove hex/holy veil usually does it). You can do it, it works ok, not great. You might have trouble finding a place in a PuG claiming to be a mesmer healer, but it will work ok-ish.
Also, you'll want to be one thing or the other, not an e-denial mesmer AND a heal monk.
Note: I probably said some non-proph skills, but I cba to check :P

You can get through NM PvE just fine. That said, I'm curious what skills you're using to think that Fast Casting would be better than Divine Favor.

If you really want to provide monk support - may I suggest looking into Protection?
Healing isn't the best option since you are missing out on the DF bonus - but Protection works very nicely even without a huge investment.
Protective Spirit is very sweet in PvE and so would be Aegis.
I'd suggest running Manta Of Recovery as your elite.
Add Shatter Hex for some nice damage while keeping in tune with the supportive role (even if you don't invest insanely high into dom).
Add some Condition removal and some Inspiration stuff - Power Drain and Drain Ench.
Finish off with a rez (since you have high FC you'll have people up and running fast) - or you could even run something like Infuse Health - since it will give a huge saving heal even at 0 in Healing.
Basically a 10 / 10 / 9 / 7 could work.
Or 10 / 9 / 9 / 8.
Or 11 / 9 / 9 / 6.
Basically you want 9 for the breakpoint for Aegis - the rest doesn't really matter. If you do end up using MoR - you want high FC to get the most out of it.
(Of course that's a 4 line spread - if you don't go for Shatter Hex - which would be a waste since it's really sweet - then you can invest more into FC and Insp.)
The big problem is of course the fact that I wouldn't take you instead of the hench. The hench provide decent protection and healing but their damage bars suck. So you might as well do damage while they do the things that they don't suck completely at.
All in all - even if you go with a damage bar - there is nothing stopping you from running things like Aegis/PS/Condition or Hex Removal (even with 2 monk hench) because it's REALLY sweet!

one way to consider
Upier has made some good points, and would be a good way to go. There is another way you could also go. Consider focusing on supportive Mesmer/inspiration spells and unlinked monk spells. By using unlinked monks skills you can max out your inspiration and fast casting.
Some Mesmer skills to consider
Drain Enchantment
Inspired Hex
Spirit Shackles– highly recommend
Power Leech [E] – highly recommend
Epidemic
Some unlinked monk skills to consider
Holy Veil – highly recommend
Resurrect
Remove Hex
Purge Conditions
Martyr [E] – this is not popular elite, but does combine well with purge conditions
Have fun, you can make it work.

Not really much point in Martyr / Purge. Purge has a huge recharge of 20, Martyr has a recharge of of 10. Not to mention the conditions that are useful to remove in PvE are limited to Weakness, Blind (physicals only) and Daze. Cripple, maybe. I highly suggest Empathic Removal or something similar instead if you're going to use it.

If you want to heal, ur better off making a monk. Its a possible build, however it wont be that great.
If you have nightfall and signet of illusions you could make a build combining some heals, prots, smites and maybe some damage. Something like heal other, prot spirit, aegis, balthazars aura, auspicious incantation, signet of illusions, res chant, optional.

Your constant flaming is really irritating me, considering most of it is out of place and shamefully ignorant. I have read many of your recent posts and they are all red hot flaming one sided opinions. Ever consider actually trying to help the people here in all your years of negative posting?
When did Empathic Removal become a Prophecies skill?
Did I ask for your opinion on my post?
You really think I need to be informed on skill recharge times?
Did I not recommend to the player to use a Mesmer elite?
Things that make you go “Hmmm”.

Flaming?, wut...Your ideas were pretty bad in the first place
Unlike alot of people on these forums Tyla usually knows what he's talking about...and if you don't want people commenting on things you posted then keep it to pm's.
If I was you I would listen to what Tyla says and stop being bitchy.

I did that in proph when the game first came out, mostly because I think the tyrian monks are a bit on the ugly side and we couldn't hide our helmets back then and I didn't want to look at those tattoos. As the other games came out, I've been getting more mesmerish to the point I rarely run a healing build.
Just remember mesmers don't make for great monking. Guardian/aegis are nice for protection and mitigation. Maybe some condition and hex removal to free up the monks a little more.

Flaming? What? Elaborate. If you don't like me or feel my posts are ignorant, fiery or violent, feel free to report the post.
Also, I'm not flaming. None of the most recent post provided any inflamatory material. You simply take things to heavily; not my problem, your own.

When did Power Leech become a Prophecies skill, too?
Opinions and facts will pretty much always make an impact on your posts in a forum. If you object to that, feel free to simply stop posting because you're doing yourself no good in the matter.
Oh yes, where were we?
Contiuing from my other post, you are quite right that I didn't properly read the OP, although my argument against Martyr still stands. A stronger condition removal, from even 0 spec would be Restore Condition. Insta-res (not many useful Mesmer elites for Proph-only at all, so you're best off using a secondary based skill or MoR) from Unyielding Aura. Signet of Judgement, although quite bad provides a knockdown with some damage, and if you have melee based allies with you, Strength of Honour can be quite useful. MoR alters the recharge of Aegis heavily, aswell. With Monk support on a Mesmer, I wouldn't go beyond Aegis, Veil, PSpirit and maybe Guardian.

monk side just take some prot stuff like aegis, mend condition/ailment and prot spirit, take woh, there are no dangerous hexes in prof norm mode so you can ignore that and save a skill slot, and choose a monk res that best suits the team make up. mesmer side take drain enchant and if in a heavy enchant area take insp enchant too, take pdrain if you want more energy management/an interupt for fun or dealing with imortant spells (i'd drop an enchant removal for leech signet maybe in areas with mursaat or hydras)
you wont be as good as a bot but if its what you wanna play normal mode will let you play it, cause its easy as pie ^^

Please don't. I get enough trash in my email inbox as it is

Tyla ignorant? Why would you take martyr or purge when an unspecced RC is superior in just about every way if you combine it with mendtouch and the emanagement of inspiration skills (which is the whole point of mesmer primary). And if you can't handle criticism for suggesting things that people will think as bad, then that's your problem.
Edit: Dammit, this is what happens when I don't read all of Tyla's posts. He mentioned the unspecced RC before me
